It's been a year, and not at all an easy one. I can't say I'm even over the shock that Zak was ill, let alone that he's gone. Always hoping that the happy memories will, over time, eclipse most of the more difficult ones. After all he lived many brilliant years. A brilliant big bro. x

Would anyone who knows Zak's executor, Johnny, please ask him to contact me, Becky Wilcox, (Zak's Ma), on fred497453@hotmail.com. Regarding genetic testing for genes predisposing to cancer . Thank you.

I was always in awe of how Zak lived his life with such integrity and kindness. His patience and incredible intellect, his quiet presence in a group. He was a friend you could rely on and trust. Had a wicked sense of humour coupled with a wry smile. On his last visit to our house, he commented that, 'It's really difficult trying to organise a bucket list in lockdown!' This was such a Zak comment to make - his final weeks were approached with the pragmatic attitude that his life had been lived. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
